Twitter and Formulists
For those of you jumping on the Twitter bandwagon — Twitter’s “Lists” feature seems to be really underutilized. Most people don’t even realize that you can add someone to a “list” without actually following them. This makes it almost like having multiple Twitter accounts (which is another viable option) in that these users won’t show up in your primary timeline, but at any time you can go to your lists, each of which is like its own timeline.
Unheard in New York
What a fantastically interesting social experiment! Unheard in New York is a program that has given 4 homeless individuals Twitter acounts and a prepaid cell phone with a month of free text messages.

Looks like their tweets may a little difficult to decipher at first, but I think this is incredible. What an opportunity to get inight into their lives! According to the site, unemployment in NYC increased by 1/3 during 2009. I haven’t taken the time to verify if this is true or not (Step 1 of my boards is tomorrow), but I thought I’d take a quick minute to post this. More thoughts later.
